According to the newly released documents, the Shin Bet and the PFLP are alleged to have teamed up in an "unholy alliance" in an attempt to change foreign policy in the Middle East.
This but incredibly dangerous strategy is called the Strategy of Tension, whereby public opinion is controlled and manipulated via propaganda, acts of false flag terrorism, and other such western tactics. I wonder just how many US outlets will report this story. But one thing is very clear, those in Shin Bet involved were hard right/Likud leaning elements or on the orders of hard right/Likud leaning elements.
The strategy of tension and the tactic of false flag terrorism are not employed by left leaning terrorist groups. In general, left leaning terrorist groups (such as Italy's Red Brigades) will target a single person of particular importance - for example, a Defense Minister or a political leader, or a small group of people in government.
