US to attack ISRAEL in 1967! What if?

What if....???
What price oil? Iraq invasion? USS Liberty? No 911! World peace?
For some time, the United States had had an emergency plan to attack Israel, a plan updated just prior to the 1967 war, aimed at preventing Israel from expanding westward, into Sinai, or eastward, into the West Bank.
In May 1967, one of the U.S. commands was charged with the task of removing the plan from the safe, refreshing it and preparing for an order to go into action.
This unknown aspect of the war was revealed in what was originally a top-secret study conducted by the Institute for Defense Analyses in Washington. The full story is detailed in Haaretz' Independence Day Supplement.
In February 1968, an institute expert, L. Weinstein, wrote an article called "Critical Incident No. 14," about the U.S. involvement in the Middle East crisis of May-June 1967.Only 30 copies of his study were printed for distribution.

So they were going to solve the Middle East problem by fighting for both sides. This could have caused them a reason to see the U.S. as a common enemy. People, particularly planners have more faith in plans than they deserve. When they fall apart so often when confronted by reality, and common sense. They've got the same plan now, it's just been tweaked enough to screw up in a totally different way.

I'm not at all sure if I'm understanding your reply. I can only infer that you believe that the USA would not win!!!

If it did, then it would have imposed its own solution. Whatever might have resulted would surely not be as bad as the present injustice and ALL the world terrorism that leads from it. No matter how much the US might cock it up, I do not believe it could be as bad as now.

I hope that I have understood you properly.

The United States won the war 4 or 5 years ago. They told us, so we wouldn't miss it. Now they are cleaning up. It didn't occur to them that there was such a breakdown in social public and administrative systems. The u.s. is determined to breakdown and rebuild nations in their own image. Winning and losing seem like an alien concept now. Would we even be able to describe them in practical terms. Utopian descriptions are misleading and unachievable.
